XPO1

Chr 2

exportin 1

Also known as: CRM-1, CRM1, emb, exp1

This cell-cycle-regulated gene encodes a protein that mediates leucine-rich nuclear export signal (NES)-dependent protein transport. The protein specifically inhibits the nuclear export of Rev and U snRNAs. It is involved in the control of several cellular processes by controlling the localization of cyclin B, MPAK, and MAPKAP kinase 2. This protein also regulates NFAT and AP-1. Interpreting a novel variant
Loss of function is the curated mechanism (Gene2Phenotype) and the gene is intolerant of it in the population — truncating, frameshift and canonical splice variants carry more prior weight here than missense.Curated gene-level mechanism — a prior for triage, not a per-variant call.
