XAGE1A
Chr XX antigen family member 1A
Also known as: CT12.1, CT12.1A, CT12.1B, CTP9, GAGED2, XAGE-1, XAGE1, XAGE1B
XAGE1A encodes a cancer-testis antigen that is normally expressed in testis and fetal tissues but becomes aberrantly expressed in various tumors including Ewing's sarcoma and alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. The protein contains a nuclear localization signal and shares sequence similarity with other GAGE/PAGE family proteins. No Mendelian diseases associated with germline mutations in this gene have been established in the medical literature.
